The Scenario in Iraq

Priorities:

1.   Cut off access to the oil fields

2.   No fighting in Baghdad or major urban centers

3.   Preserve military units other than the Republican Guard

4.   Preserve the infrastructure to the extent possible

5.   Deal with actual threats in a pre-emptive an overwhelming manner

6.   Preserve and maintain all possible military assets

What will happen:

1.   The U.S. will move special operations forces into position to block access to and control the oil resources of Iraq.

2.   Iraq will attempt to engage these forces

3.   Engaging Iraqi units will be eliminated by airpower resources

4.   War will begin with both sides claiming provocation

5.   Access to all urban centers will be blocked by U.S. forces

6.   All areas outside of Baghdad and one or two other major urban centers will be

subdued and controlled

7.   Baghdad and a few other urban centers will be blockaded

8.   Three weeks later hostilities will cease with a surrender

9.   Saddam Hussein will be given a pass out of the country

10.  The U.S. will consolidate control of the urban centers
